Catherine Shelton appointed as WiN Transport Lead

Catherine Shelton has been appointed as the Women in Nuclear Transport Group of Expertise Lead. With over 35 years of experience, Catherine Shelton is a global expert in the strategic and operational management of nuclear and radioactive material transport. Throughout her distinguished career in France and the United States, she successfully managed large-scale programs, including the delivery of approximately 1,500 commercial spent fuel shipments. Her extensive contributions to the field, backed by a master’s degree in business, were honored in 2019 with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the PATRAM committee.

Elisa Penda appointed as WiN Transport Co-Lead

Elisa Penda has been appointed as Women in Nuclear Transport Group of Expertise Co‑Lead and serves as World Nuclear Transport Institute Specialist in Policy and Regulation. Elisa has twenty years’ experience with the Orano Group and holds a master’s degree in Transport and a bachelor’s degree in International Transport Logistics. She began her career as a shipping specialist at Areva T&D, then worked as a transport analyst for LMC and Orano NPS, including international MOX transports to Japan, the Netherlands and Germany. After a period at LEA, supplying radioactive sources for medical, industrial and research applications, she returned to Orano NPS as Transport Methods Manager in February 2020, overseeing transport organisation, supply chain and regulatory compliance for project managers.

Sharon Hutchinson appointed as WiN Transport Secretary

Sharon Hutchinson has been appointed Women in Nuclear Transport Group of Expertise Secretary and serves as Memberships and Events Manager at the World Nuclear Transport Institute.
