Listening to why people stay, move, or leave

New qualitative research commissioned by WiN Transport explores the career moments that influence whether skilled professionals remain in the sector. Participants described the importance of meaningful early assignments, managers who explain the wider purpose of work, and transparent routes toward greater responsibility.

The findings also show that retention cannot be addressed through recruitment campaigns alone. Inconsistent access to development, prolonged isolation in small teams, and assumptions about mobility can gradually narrow a person’s options. A practical briefing will help employers review these moments across the employee lifecycle and identify changes they can measure.
