A WiN Transport site visit gave members the opportunity to follow a cargo movement from gate entry through staging, lifting, and final handover. Terminal colleagues explained how weather, traffic, equipment availability, and competing priorities shape the sequence of work.
The visit reinforced the importance of early, precise information and realistic time allowances. Participants from office-based roles said the experience changed how they think about requests that appear simple on a schedule. The group identified several opportunities to improve pre-arrival briefings and make contingency plans easier for frontline teams to use.
